Also...

The class demos were great and it was good to see and hear that I wasn't alone in some struggles. I took notes on all the parts I liked. I def liked the video stuff and the grid of images. Same student I believe. Everyone made creative things and I think for first time users, we did well.

Take aways:
-Make a website for my resume for future employers
-make a Facebook
-GoogleImages
-animated gifs
-can use MS Publisher to make a website
-make a calender (make a pdf so its locked down)
-can view source codes on sites to get tips on how they did stuff
-the 'old' file or folder look as pages...creative
-flash for spiral moving photo album
-yahooligans
-vimeo free youtube like system higher quality
-cerillos/mining town NM Madrid NM for more cemetery images

update.....

I worked on the website today on the side columns to make them even at the bottom and set in place. I selected the column and went to CSS then Advanced Properties and selected Height and set it to a number making it just above the bottom of center column.

I did this for each page and since each page is a bit longer or shorter, made it match for that page.

I also moved the 'Top of Page' to be in the center.

I did then try to figure out using a 'table' with col's and rows to then insert images but this wasn't working out... I liked the table in a grid of images then click on an image and that image could be viewed bigger then close that out and pick another image....although I couldnt get this to work out so I then started to dig around on New then choose from Starter Basic and in that list was some Image gallery like choices... I did find one to use but it was set up for 5 images that would link to 5 pages... I have so many photos...I called Dreamweaver and tech said for the amount I pics I have, I should use Command, Web Photo Album option : but as we walked thru-it requires Fireworks CS4 which I don't have and can't afford to buy ...yet! After the new Year I will ge this. I still want to learn how Cheatum (student in class) did the grid... I will email him for the details.

updates

I've been reviewing different websites getting inspirations for my own website which I will make after this course is done. It will be for my own artwork and self promotion. I think I would like to pursue more of this kind of work within my library work as well.

still trying to get a form made...

Using this free download:
trying to make it work

Flash and PHP contact form
About php and flash contact form

This is a contact form made in flash and php, it can be used on 'contact us' pages.
A flash file contains the form items and when the 'send' button is pressed it sends the values to mailer php, this mailer.php sends the email to the receiver.

Few of the benefits of using a flash form instead of a html contact form are:

* better user interface
* less junk messages (automated scripts cannot send emails through a flash form unless it is decompiled)

Usage details

Upload mailer.php and form.swf on your server in same directory.
In mailer.php you will have to replace 'email@yourserver.com' with your email address. Make sure this is an email hosted on that server where you are testing (most server requires this).
Preview

This is a preview of how the contact form looks, you try sending an email to see how form reacts, email will not be sent. It shows a warning if some of the fields are not filled.

working on :

How to get data from a form into an e-mail

Dreamweaver does not include server behaviors for passing form data into an email. However, there are several methods of getting information from a submitted form into an e-mail.
Methods for passing form data into an email response
Use a Common Gateway Interface (CGI) script

A CGI script works with the form to gather the data, parse it, and insert it into an e-mail. Your server administrator may have a CGI script on the server that will process your data. If not, there are many CGI scripts available for free on the Internet. If you use one of these scripts, it has to be uploaded to your server and may have to be placed into a cgi-bin folder. Talk to your server administrator to find out where the CGI script needs to reside on the server.

It is a good idea to create a parallel folder structure in your local root folder, including the folder named cgi-bin. This allows you to browse to the CGI script locally when linking to it from your form and ensures that the path to the CGI script will work correctly when you upload your site.
Use a Scripting language

Active Server Pages (ASP), JavaServer Pages (JSP), ColdFusion (CF), and PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) are server-side scripting languages used to pass data to and from a database, and these languages can also be used to pass form data into an email. As mentioned above, Dreamweaver does not include server behaviors for passing form data into emails.

There are extensions available from the Dreamweaver Exchange which add this functionality as server behaviors into Dreamweaver. Search for the words "form" and "email" from the Exchange Search page to find all results.
Use a remotely-hosted form-to-email service

This service acts as the processor of the form data. The Action of the form points to their remote CGI script. Their script processes the data, then sends the data to a specified e-mail address.

The remotely-hosted service will have access to the data collected from the form.
Define the form's Action to be a mailto: link

While this is the easiest method for e-mailing form data, it is not recommended because not all browsers recognize an e-mail address as a form's Action. Furthermore, even if the browser accepts this attribute, the user's system and mail configuration may prevent this strategy from working. When it fails, it can fail invisibly, so neither the user nor the intended recipient will know that the form data was not sent.
Setting up a simple mailto form in Dreamweaver

Once a form has been developed in Dreamweaver, follow the steps below to create a mailto action for the form. Refer to How to develop a form in Dreamweaver (TechNote 14950) if you need additional information about creating the form itself.

1. In Design View, place the cursor inside the form, then select the form tag from the Tag Selector at the bottom of the page.
2. In the Action field of the Property inspector, enter the e-mail address where the data in the form will be sent to. If you are using another method for processing the form data, the action field will typically refer to a file that houses the processing script.
3. In the Enctyp field, type text/plain.
4. A subject line can be defined by adding it after the email address and a question mark in the Action field. An example of that would be: mailto:user@domain.com?subject=Hello there.

1. Type of site: Non profit and resource site about cemeteries including cemetery background information, historical, preservation, terminology, gallery of photography of cemeteries, other cultures cemetery and burial information, epitaphs, articles, poetry, resources of bibliography and other websites, and a commentary page of my experience making the site and a list of my favorite websites which I find inspirational.

2. Purpose of site: peaceful, calm design, educational and informational site

7 pages
Home
Cemetery
Article
Culture
Gallery
Resources
Commentary

3. Design choices made (including reasons why the choices were made).
I created the header in Photoshop: used free Photoshop font stamps, imagery from free stockxchng.com
I wanted a 3 column pages and two column pages of information layout.
I wanted to make a site that was educational and informational while visually interesting exploring different information about all aspects on cemeteries and the preservation of them including: photos of cemeteries of which I had two photographers, an article page with featured author, and a Culture page filled with a specific topic related to cemeteries, in this case, Day of the Dead a celebration from Mexico.
Article/Poem author – Timothy Juhl
Photography – Mary Campbell
Photography- Pam Reagan- I visited many cemeteries and took photographs and read epitaphs. I am a photographer so I enjoyed this process.

4. Experiences in building the site.
My experience building the website was fairly straightforward save getting started. That first few weeks of decision-making about the design, color, layout, text and imagery for header and the construction of the first page was a process in
sketches like a storyboard to use as a jumping point. After the construction was set, creating subsequent pages was streamlined using Dreamweaver and Photoshop.
Changes to some design, color and size of things changed along the way. Since I wanted an educational site, I didn’t want to use a lot of fancy or tricky effects or animation that would detract from the purpose of the site.

5. Lessons learned.
By the time I made the 3rd page, I realized I had no footer. So I stopped, created the footer on the home page and added to the rest of my pages. I learned to study the home page again to make sure all standard repeating items were created so that all pages would be consistent.
I learned to keep the root folder that saves the items in one place and not move items from the folder around if I could help it. At first, I was tinkering around with this folder and couldn’t figure out why some stuff wasn’t showing up. I also learned that next
time to save the title of files lower case. I have a mix of lower case and upper case; by habit, I use upper case. I also learned to keep all items being used to build graphics etc… in more organized folders. At one point, I spent several hours digging around for certain files I made as textures of which was saved in one out of several folders of graphics.
I also learned to back up your work. Twice while building the site, I removed an item and then couldn’t find it. I relied on my burned CD of backed up information to get it back. Yeah!
I also learned that running the validator gives you your list of errors and while working on this, I changed the root folder which totally changed up the site and had to revert back using the again the burned CD back up …again Yeah!
Mostly I learned that there are so many options to be had in creating a website and I wanted to use them all. It was like a box of crayons with an array of choices to color only one tree! ….and I sure didn’t want to stay in the lines… ( I made the site ‘not creepy’ given the topic although I do tend to paint creepy things)

testing the validator....

W3C Validator

I tested my website on this site given in the course instructions... it lists 7 errors... the first of which I think is due to the hyphens... I will check on this...

It gives line an column places to go find the errors which I will investigate... one of them looks like maybe theres a space where there shouldnt be...

For the most part I don't know how to read this but will try to figure it out.

Swap Image Behavior Dreamweaver

the smartwebby has links for instructions for various different effects and tips. I looked into ones pertaining to Dreamweaver and I selected Apply the Swap Image behavior. I was trying it out and reading instructions and wasn't very successful. I like the menu with bullets and the image changes in the example given on smartwebby website but it does include a software program I can't afford to purchase. They were using it as the 'header' menu. I could see it used as a small menu of information inside a website but it might come off as too much in my own website.

I can't wait to work on my own website for my art. I'll do this inbetween semesters...woo hoo...

but of course
it is the MoMA

Dali & Film

Smartwebby

Smartwebby

What a cool site:
I immediately went to Rollover link and when you scroll down and look around it is giving you great html code for cool effects to use.

Swap images is a cool effect, when you rollover a radial button/word it swaps an image out...

Image feathering is another great effect. Using Photoshop, you can create a soft white background around the foci of image and eliminate the orig background.. interesting...just when you think you are done!...so much more to do...or can be done...

Dreamweaver template link has some very nice designs on it with some interesting colors. I see potential and then pick it apart some to make it what you really want out of it.

Dreamweaver behaviors is another great link to check out. I have not done the validate yet but may work on more effects then check the behavior info out. My site will be a 'real' working site after class is all done so I will have to make sure I check on 'behavior' so when viewed on diff browsers; it's not all funny lookn!

After reviewing this site, I want to look at my own to perhaps add or change some things. Critique and review is always good. I'm thinking we will get to review in class and then 'take away' pointers and tips and then get to perhaps polish it up one last time before its due Dec 16th

Very interesting site… cool way to display artworks by vigilant digital artists.

my fav out of all the 70 autumn imspirations-digital images… very nice to see this exhibit. I can def see myself getting very addicted to this laptop and build some nice artwork…. Interesting… theres not enough of me and my hands to go around to meet the demand of the images and creations going on in my head! mattijn

Of course I was attracted to the scary face of the girl screaming… and firefox prevented me from going to the link for it…Hotel626 but when you go to it…very creepy…very interesintg…apparently you reserve a room and use your webcam on computer and your cell phone to try to get out! How very creepy!

CSS Dance
This site has some adds as demos of cool things to do w/CSS and tricks.. other links to more tips and tricks… If only there was enough time in the day to go to every link. I think I mentioned in my last class w/you Dr. S how overwhelming it is to see all these links and it just feels like it could go on forever and ever…. Ahhhhhhhh

CSS Heaven
Different designs showcased…. I liked this guy all glowing.. http://www.andographic.co.uk/….it really pops out against the dark… so of the sites are too busy in my opinion…

CSS Elite
This site wasn’t anymore elite than some others… just uses diamond image as voting icon… I must say all the colorful adds to the side as you scroll is completely annoying to the eye as you view the screen…. Too many and it just becomes hard to look at.
Oriental Gallery
Love the way this gallery is set up… a small screen shot on one side and a wider example taking up ¾ of the page… viewing this was pleasant…. No adds yeah
Liked this site the best.

ok ... update time....

Ok.. I uploaded all pics into sep galleries using Picasa...it was simple to use and compatible w/MAC yeah! I names each cemetery sep. and noting credit to each photographer. I'm so bummed I didn't get to go to the cemetery in NYcity... but the few pics Mary provided will be fine. After looking at them I just see huge potential.

I updated the culture page making the links all part of the resources for this page and spread out the titles and pics somemore..it seemed cramped. I did spell check on ea page..I reveiwed the guidelines list by Dr. S and posted a couple of questions..some of which I already just went ahead and made the changes. I will for now add the Comments section at bottom of the Resource page as it's own section then if it needs to be its own webpage..will xform that later.

I will now try to work on the hover thingy... not sure yet if it will work out but if it doesnt...will need to come up w/an alternative..

still waitn for authors bio..then will fill that in....

so far it looks good on firefox...

I stayed at Chelsea Hotel and it was so fun..it smelled like oil paintings when you walk in, I was in immediate heaven!

Cool artwork in throughout the hotel, my fav Linda Troeller whose photographs were huge and I loved the one with Ethan Hawke.

My fav part was of course the MoMA and Ny Public Library! The conference parts that was able to attend was alright.

I braved the subway.. it really wasn't as scary as I thought!

St Pauls Chapel and Churchyard

if you click on the link it takes you to the main page of website but scroll to the bottom and there is a pic of the churchyard graveyard on the left side...click there and it brings up a search engine to research the graveyards interns. It's located down near wallstreet in the business district near Ground Zero which I will visit... The church and the gravesite were covered in soot but didnt crumble under the devastation that day.

and oh ya
my author Tim, is visiting the NC state fair either today or tomorrow and the Blue Ribbon winner was a guy who hand made his coffin and of course plans to be buried in it. Can't wait to see these pics and post to the site. I did ask the author Tim to maybe write up a story on this.

Tomorrow I leave for NYcity and I can't wait. The idea of going to the MoMA and of course the NY Public library is too much for my brain to wrap around. I also booked a seat to see a Broadway play... will be amazing. What I can't imagine is traversing through the streets of Manhattan. My hope is don't tire too much and get over my fear of the subway or even the bus for that matter! What I don't pay attention and it takes me into Brooklyn! yikes or somewhere else! anyway... camera don't fail me now!

list of things I want to work on

-del any files that dont need to be in the site file
-check dividers again for placement or if they are needed
-get Tim's bio done
-fix length of side col's at least make them somewhat even
-make the gallery of course - the next huge project
-make resources list out of the links at bottom of Culture page perhaps a collapsable menu?
-check out javascript for mouse overs or the new sites on buttons for the terms list
-check the color website out again for complimentary colors and see if the site could change in color one again?
-put names of photographers under ea photo whether it was tim or myself
-put the usf info at bottom in footer
-make a section called Upcoming - to list possible upcoming topics for the Culture page

Recruitement

I have recruited a new photographer. She does this as a hobby and is quite good. I was telling her about my trip to NYCity and she was giving me tips and names of places to go. She has been there several times and was telling me about the church that is right near Ground Zero which I will be visiting and that the church has a cemetery. She has great shots of the cemetery and church and I proposed she be a featured photographer on my site and she agreed. So hopefully if she does follow thru - there will be a section for her pics. She is visiting Atlanta GA soon and she said she will make a trip to a cemetery to do a photo shoot. woo hoo!

Week 8 Review--Lots of new and fun things to try out!

Elements of Design: Imagery
Week 8

The Principles of Beautiful Web Design book was a great read. I tagged pages of importance with post its and have notes through out the book. I will keep this book for future reference and recommend it as well.

All the web sites we have been given and reviewed have been bookmarked and that list is overwhelming… I will go back into it and organize it into labeled folders.

Just some of my favs so far:

Photoshop is a must in my life and cannot envision my Mac without it. It is an extension of my hand like a brush.

Wikipedia Public Domain Image Resource: what a great page filled w/vital information about using images, public domain, and copyrights. Love it! A must to save and use again and again.

LibrarySpot.com is another fabulous website making me dizzy with everything it has to offer! If I may….OMG!...

Deep Web Resources:

Read Write Web - filled with adds is the first I noticed which is kinda annoying but then I realized it is a place to stay updated on trends, products and online activity and recommendations.

Footnote.com – wow this was completely fascinating… I immediately clicked on death records and tried looking up my dad’s. The site was down but I will try again. This site may be very useful for my site!

Tools:

Adobe Photoshop is priceless and I think everyone should be able to afford it and have it!
The best image/art tool yet!

Adobe Fireworks ..interesting… another tool for creating graphics and websites.. …
GIMP –we have come full circle with reviewing sites.. another image manipulating tool.

Free Button Makers, p419-
www.buttongenerator.com - OMG now there are even more options to changing up my site! I will have to spend some time practicing these buttons to maybe use buttons… how cool!
http://cootext.com/ButtonBrowse.aspx
www.grsites.com/button - Well now more things to test out…. Some say mouse over effect which I was lookn for something like this… I still have to review javascript which is what the Dreamweaver rep suggested using for a mouse over effect….
www.flashbuttons.com - this site looks like it offers some more variety in buttons and the way the look but again the book said:
(don’t use flash because not all sites will have access to reading flash)

The more popular button makers are small programs you download to computer and use.

Collapsable Menus
p. 435
This effect may also lend itself to what I want for a section on my site. I have a list of terms and I want to roll over the word and the definition shows up…so this could be an alternative to mouse ever buttons….

Chapter 16
Audio and Video

Wow this was like the last thing I would try to include since it sounds so difficult and if I have time to so I still may. I have a couple of video clips like things that would be cool to include.

Types of multi media files:
MIDI-synthesized music
WAV MP3 Digital audio
MPEG AVI MOV WMV Digital video
GIF animated gifs

Background music – which to me is annoying… I always turn my sound down… to me it’s distracting but I only find it useful when it’s appropriate to the site…like Evanescence’s website… http://www.evanescence.com/
Amy Lee will be performing a song for Tim Burton’s new release of Nightmare Before Christmas in CA tonight. I wish I could go! I love Evanescence’s website; the design is very nice.

research on different browser behaviors

Ok research on the 'others viewing the website and seeing wierd things that you didn't intend on..."

I called Dreamweaver and they said:
* Some viewers may have old browser versions of Internet Explorer and tends to conflict w/ CSS float rules causing a stretching like behavior...

*Internet Explorer 7 should be ok (which is prob what my work has causing I don't the stretching issue w/lots of white space and text all crunched at the bottom..)

Resolution:
*do a browser check/set up a behavior to redirect the viewer to another page that is printer friendly format so it won't conflict w/CSS float rules
She looked for help under Testing for different browsers

I will work on this...

Here is some pics....

Here is some pics from my photo shoots. I won't post them all since I shot about 50 from each cemetery.

Gathering pictures from cemeteries

I spent hours visiting two cemeteries: Dunedin Memorial Cemetery and Sylvan Abbey Memorial Cemetery in Clearwater. The Dunedin cemetery was very small but filled w/beautiful personal memorial type items at gravesites. It also is widely known for the peacocks that live there. When I arrived, a few people had come out just to feed the somewhat tame peacocks which come right up to you and will eat of your hand. Unfortunately (and unusal) the groundskeeper drove by us while i was photographing this scene and yelled and the folks feeding the birds saying "it's not a zoo" then drove off. I've never heard that it wasn't ok to do this. We all thought it was unusal.

The Sylvan Abbey cemetery was a huge vast site with many sculptures so I focused on photographing the sculptures. It also had a huge two story mausoleum with indoor covered seating area with pews for services. It was beautiful and very peaceful.

Today, I'm off to visit Rose cemetery and Cycadia right next to it in Tarpon Springs, and then off to downtown Tampa where historic Oaklawn cemetery is to photograph there. This is an historic civil war cemetery and I've been to it before for a ghost walk tour thru it. It's open to public during the day.

Flickr

I loaded a ton of photos to my Flickr account then made it public but all restricted. I was hoping to add the slideshow to the bottom of this blog but the only option was their own images... I typed in the word cemetery and some cool pics they have began to animate. Although I would have like to seen mine.
All the pics are the same that are already in this blog anyway.

updates

I have been surfing and gathering various brush sets, icons to use on the site. I used the new brush set to get the illusion of marble and cracks w/tones of blues. I made a little bar to use as a divider although I think I want to make it smaller and thinner. I changed the footer and links and added copyright at the bottom. I changed the font colors and texture to the buttons at the top of each page adding an additional page 'culture' to work on which will include different cultural cemetery traditions such as Day of the Dead from Mexico and parts of Guatamala. I cleaned the files in the site folder and organized all the graphics and things I had been looking thru to use. I made links to Extras -- books and authors on the resource page which by the way could go on forever it seems. Some major pieces still to work on is the mouse over effect and the gallery is the biggest one. I'm saving this project to the end. I still need to go photograph the Dunedin cemetery and the downtown Tampa cemetery and some roadside memorials. My featured author's article is done and his first poem. I believe he also is going to submit more photos.

workn on website

I have been working on the website have polished many more things to the site..updated the resources list; added the poem section; rearranged and added mine and Tim's photography; worked on some colors although I don't want to detract from the calmness of the blues..so I only added one color-a maroon...I reworked the link color and added the footer to each page....and the next effect I want to work on is on the weekly article page on the left side is a list of terms and I want the viewer to be able to rollover the word and the definition pops up..inside the frame graphic that is posted here... it is an example of the word and definition inside the frame. I got the graphic from free clipart books that I own. I can't find the answer in my Quick Easy Dreamweaver bk... I tried working in Behavior menu but can't get any of the choices to work. The pop message is a pre designed one in grey w/a warning sign. I don't want that. I will post a question on BB today.

Trying to add pop ups???

Elements of Design: Color

A good design begins w/purposeful use of color in every aspect of the website from graphics, font, backgrounds and links. The Principles and Elements of Design offer a great way to mix and coordinate colors that are pleasing, attractive and that work together to the best advantage towards the purpose of the website.

Colors have create meaning, emotion and psychological associations which can vary based on cultural differences. For example, red is a very powerful color which could incite stop or warmth or even passion. Color schemes combined together can work towards your advantage and in keeping with the certain schemes, the design can really be successful.
A good example of a color scheme is monochromatic which means tints and shades of one color : blacks and whites.

There are certain color palettes that are created for certain modes of operation such as mixing paints, mixing colors for transmission on monitors, mixing colors for printing purposes. Each has a numerical code that makes up the properties of the color and websites has it's own websafe color palette that is imperative to be aware of and create accurate and user friendly web colors so that anyone viewing the website will benefit from the color(s) selected.

Colors on the Web
http://colorsontheweb.com/
This is a great website...I enjoy the look of it already the way the colors mix are very pleasing. I'm really enjoying the various links of information about colors and see that there are more colors available to mix together for my website. My colors are of course very calm with different blues but I see how I can jazz it up a bit..in keeping with the tone of the theme of my website of course.

color schemes was fun to work with because the link took me to color combinations that I would not thought of...but will!!!!

Readings
Chapter 9 - MacDonald
Page layout tools : tables and styles

He reviews the anatomy of HTML table in detail defining tags and scripting used in HTML to form a table.
Sizing and Aligning tables which is what I want to do for 2 of my pages. I want to change the size of a well a column or table in my CSS page so that there are only 2 columns for the Resource page and the Gallery page.

Floating boxes: this is how the boxes or graphic will appear on the screen with relative positioning as it is viewed on different monitors.

Layering: overlap two things to become one item..Zindex-high are placed infront of low.
p.257-259overlapping one box over another in the upper corner...I will want to use this as well in my website. I 'eared' the page to come back to it when I go to create this.

Chapter 10 - MacDonal
Frames

Apparently there is a controversy over using frames and it is becoming outdated. Frames are pixel width height and web browser window is re-sized. I used this when making a webpage pathfinder for Slone's class.

Principles of Beautiful Design
Chapter 3
Texture

Texture gives a distinct look and appearance to the surface of the page being made for example, real brick or wood or water. It gives the impression of a photograph or the feel of a surface.

Points-pixel picture element or dot (dots) that make up the image on the screen
Line-two or more points connect
Shape-two endpoints join creating an enclosed space that has a surface or could be 3D
Freeform shapes-geometric curvilinear

Nifty Corners www.html.it/articoli/nifty

Spiffy corners www.spiffy.corners.com/

Spanky-corners rounded corners - - I like this..will look this up to use in my website.
p.73

Volume/Depth-Perspective-items decrease into a single point
Proportion-relative size of the real object as compared to it's space/perspective
Light/Shadow-light source hitting an object casts shadows onto it's surface/drop shadow, shaded, glow
Pattern-richness to surface, texture
Background color-transparent, marble, white, could be anything!
Skin-wrap a texture onto a surface to make look real or with intention

Roussea Cemetery

working on gallery

I've been working on gathering pics for the gallery on my website.

I've collected 3 dif cemeteries from the author of the weekly article and I went and photographed a local cemetery today. Rousseau Cemetery, which is located on Hercules in Clearwater and in a grassy median. It is a small cemetery with some very very old dated headstones (back to early 1800's) and more recent ones (2005 a Marine from Iraq war).

I plan on Photographing Rose Hill cemetery in Tarpon Springs which hold great historical significance and the cemetery downtown Tampa, which holds a ghost story and tour of cemetery every Halloween.

Smashing magazine 50 excellent designs

I've determined that most websites are having way too many ads down the sides of the homepage...it's too cluttered visually and causes for delay in getting to want you really want to look at. It reminds me of television with too many commercials in and out of the show you are trying to watch.

anyway..enough of my soapbox of what I call visual clutter

The endless example right off the homepage are a delight to go thru... but it's overwhelming also reminding me that there are so many choices to pick from. Some of them are very interesting but others tend to be overly 'graphic' distracting from the text and purpose of the text which is information.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Lesson 4

Logo- I am using the logo posted several days ago of side view of sculpture on left side of graphic w/sky taking up most of the graphic...this is on all my pages in same place

Navigation- navi menu is at top horizontal bar 5 sections, Home, Cemetery, Weekly Article, Resources, Gallery

Content- just enough content has been added within sections... the article may be a bit tighter once the author revises it. There will be an link for archived articles in the future. The only thing lengthy at this point is the resources and I'm rethinkn how i want this to layout.

Space- There are several amounts of open white space so the eye has ease of moving around the page finding stuff without feeling overwhelmed.

Footer - I need to work on adding the footer... this shld hv been done at the start and have already made ea page.. so I will have to go back and create this part

Usability- I did have a friend check it out and said it was user friendly although she did have to scroll down to read the entire article. This and the resources may be the only page that will require this.

The labels are intuitive and simple to follow to find the info inside them. The gallery will prove to be a great deal of balance and proportion and user friendly, this is still under construction.

The purpose of the site is educational and informative, with some interesting extra things, like the article from a real author that is actually doing historical work within cemeteries and fun things like the ghost tours and book reviews.
