Feedback to look into and work on from Dr. S

You might try posting a print-screen of your web files and folders. It sounds like a relative path issue - the link to your image has to be pointing to the same relative path as the image on your server. That means the image has to be in the same folder with the same name on your server. Right click on the missing image in your browser and select properties - this will tell you where the server is looking for the image at.

You may wish to email me to schedule an appointment to resolve the issue, in the meantime keep trying to figure it out - perseverance pays off. Also, try reviewing Ch. 7 Adding Images in the Creating Web Sites text for helpful hints.

When you preview in browser, it is loading the files on your home computer. When you goto your website, it load the files on the server. The problem is with the files on the server. Make sure the link to your image is correct.

It's all part of the process. Hang in there and keep working towards the goal. Your problem solving skills will improve as you work through the course and assignments, what seems difficult now will later seem quite simple.

Easy or difficult is all relative. Wherever you're at, it will get easier the more you use it. Check out the manual in the help menu and get familiar with the Dreamweaver forums for helpful tips. And remember Google searches work wonders when you get in a bind. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=dreamweaver+forum

I'd try Gimpshop for graphics, but use whatever you are familiar or comfortable with. Gimpshop emulates Adobe Photoshop (the graphics standard) so you get the benefit of learning both at the same time.

You can and should use Dreamweaver to upload your site to your server, see the FTP in Dreamweaver posting for instructions.
